Tiktaalik rosae
Meet one of our newest transitional fossils. Tiktaalik helps bridge the gap between the sea and the land, showing us more clearly how legs and other land traits evolved. More impressive perhaps is that Neil Shubin went looking for this Transitional Fossil and actually found it.
Dr. Shubin also has a genetics lab where they investigate how the genes that create our fingers are adapted from fish genes. Check our It's Okay to be Smart's THUMB Video.
