Photosynthesis is the basis of almost all energy used for life. This energy is trapped and transformed sunlight. The Amoeba Sisters give us the basics.

Once food (sugar) has been created, the trapped energy can be released using Cellular Respiration. Here's how that works. If it looks really similar to photosynthesis there's a reason for that.
