Heredity, Mendel & Meiosis

Now that we have a basic understanding of cells we're going to move on to heredity in Chapter 5. Prepare for this by review the CH 5 Terms below and taking the open note

If you finish that let's looks at the basics of how heredity works with the following TED Ed video.

Heredity and Sexual Reproduction require a completely different way to make cells so we don't all end up clones of one of our parents. This happens with Meiosis, and of course the Amoeba Sisters have a wonderful video about that.

We just learned about Mitosis and now we have Meiosis, why are these cell processes so similar sounding? This unfortunately happens a lot in science, for clarity please watch the video below.
