Day 9: SOCIAL MEDIA

It was nice to have a break from school, even if we haven't been in school. Today's topic is on how social media can't be blamed for all our problems. In light of our isolation social media can even be seen more positively. While not always good or bad it has always been the case that new technologies get blamed for ruining youth. Above the Noise digs into the science, it's not just the apps, but how you use them, that effects you in good and bad ways.

That said, social media companies make money by keeping you glued to your device. The more time you spend the more money they make. BrainCraft looks at the tricks they use to keep you on their apps.

Check out the Attention Wars Series for more.

One problem with Social Media is that it creates FOMO (a Fear Of Missing Out). It's now a whole lot easier to feel left out. SciShow Psych looks at the real science of FOMO. Don't miss out, watch the video below.
